Festival in the News

In case you were on the west coast at the time and missed it, like I was, this very website was quoted in an article in Student Life last Wednesday. The post referred to in the article is here.

Meanwhile I've got a 2nd interview with Cerner tomorrow morning, so I can't watch too much of the Patriots' fumbling and stumbling.

That's great! But does anyone know the legality of reprinting someone's copywrited material without their permission? Rachel? Not that it's a big deal, I'm just curious.

As far as I know (and believe me, copyright law is not my expertise. I took one Internet Law class, and I barely attended all semester), it's okay to use excerpts from someone's work as long as you cite where the work is taken from. Using entire stories...I'm not sure about that. I will say this: even if Chris and/or Student Life puts a copyright symbol on their work, it doesn't really mean that much. My advice: Always attribute, folks.
