Elizabeth

Lyrics: Bryan Schiffner
Music: Chris Hill
Year: 2002
Notes: After having to sit through part of Moulin Rouge, Bryan made a bet with our friend Elizabeth that if he wrote her a sappy song and sang it to her she would not fall in love with him like girls do in movies. He wrote the song, but I had to arrange it and perform it, and Elizabeth did not fall in love with either of us.

Each night I sit and ponder
How my love for you has grown
But then I stop and wonder
Why I feel so all alone

You will see true love is not a myth
When you are with me, Elizabeth

But you cast me down below
In the shadow of your eyes
And you feed me evil face, you know
While you tell your wicked lies

But my heart will rise from the abyss
Just as soon as I am with you, Elizabeth

When will you come to see you won't find another
One like me, promise that we'll go on forever
Fly so high, run so far, always by your side
Never hurt, not alone, you and I

Forget about those Beta boys
They're never what they seem
Life will be a world of joys
Greater than your wildest dreams

You're the one that I see myself with
Please don't make me beg, Elizabeth
